Russia is preparing a new offensive on Kherson: the Armed Forces of Ukraine have assessed the risk of landing

Russian troops are allegedly preparing to land in the Korabelny district of Kherson with the aim of recapturing the city. However, the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine consider this possibility unlikely.

This was reported by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces Vladyslav Voloshyn in an interview with Ukrinform.

According to him, in order to reach the Korabelny district, the enemy will have to overcome several water obstacles and islands, which significantly complicates operational actions. The Ukrainian military constantly monitors the approach routes and detects any enemy assault groups.

“We use the time that the enemy needs to detect and destroy enemy forces on the approaches to the coast,” Voloshin explained.

Regarding a potential airborne operation, he added that enemy helicopters would be immediately detected and destroyed. He recalled the failed Russian attempt to carry out an airborne landing in Gostomel at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

At the same time, the spokesman noted that the situation in the southern direction remains tense. Over the past 24 hours, the enemy has carried out 280 attacks with kamikaze drones, 9 airstrikes using KAB guided bombs on Kherson, and also used strike drones of the “Molniya”, “Lancet” and “Privit-82” types.

Active fighting continues on the islands of the Dnieper Delta — Belogorudivske and Velyky Vilkhovye. A similar situation is observed near Antonivske Mosty.

Due to constant artillery and airstrikes on Kherson, particularly in the Korabelny district, where enemy drones are operating, local authorities are organizing the evacuation of civilians remaining in the combat zone.

It should be noted that Russian troops carried out airstrikes on a road bridge in Kherson, which connects the central part of the city with the Ostriv neighborhood . A civilian was killed.

As reported, in Kherson, due to damage to the automobile bridge connecting the city with the Korabel neighborhood, the evacuation of the population began.

Recall that Russia has intensified offensive operations in eastern Ukraine, achieving tactical successes and increasing pressure in several directions.
