Russia is preparing new strikes on shopping malls in frontline cities of Ukraine
Intelligence has warned of possible new Russian strikes on large shopping malls in frontline cities of Ukraine, including Kryvyi Rih. Residents are urged to avoid crowded places during the threat and to immediately head for shelters.
This was announced by the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul.
“There is intelligence that strikes on other large shopping centers in frontline cities and, in particular, Kryvyi Rih are possible,” Vilkul said.
He urged residents to stay in shelters during an air raid alert, and entrepreneurs to suspend the work of retail outlets in the event of a threat being declared.
The warning came after a Russian strike on the Sunny Gallery shopping mall in Kryvyi Rih. The attack reportedly killed 16 people and injured 130 others, including 25 children.
Vilkul also urged residents of frontline regions not to be in large shopping malls during times of threat and to head for shelters after the first signs of danger.
Separately, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, announced the expansion of the risk zone. According to him, Russian strikes no longer pose a threat only to cities near the front, since drones and ballistic missiles can travel hundreds of kilometers.
As is known, Russian troops twice attacked a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, on August 21. The strikes killed 6 people and injured 91 others, including 6 children.
It later became known that the number of dead and injured in Kryvyi Rih as a result of the Russian attack on the shopping center had increased . According to the latest data, 15 people were killed and another 130 were injured, including 23 children.
