Military intelligence warns that Russia will prepare massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy and critical infrastructure this winter, trying to leave cities without heat and water. At the same time, the enemy is modernizing its Shahed kamikaze drones, increasing their power and range.

This was stated by the commander of the intelligence unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Denys Yaroslavsky, on the air of “Ranok.LIVE” .

According to the military, Russian troops plan to make Ukraine’s energy infrastructure their main target this winter. The enemy’s goal is to leave cities without heating and water supply in the middle of the cold to force people to leave. The danger is especially great for large cities such as Kharkiv.

“The enemy is acting like a criminal. He understands that the only way to strategically devastate the city is by knocking out the energy sector. And the authorities must be ready for this,” Yaroslavsky emphasized.

In addition, he reported that Russia is actively modernizing Iranian Shahed attack drones. Currently, their warhead weighs 50–55 kg, but intelligence indicates that the occupiers are seeking to increase it to 80–90 kg. This will make strikes much more destructive: hitting a high-rise building can bring down at least five floors .

The military also noted that the Russian Federation may establish mass production of Shahed jets. Such drones are cheaper than missiles and airplanes, and in test mode they are already launched at an altitude of over 4 km, which makes them difficult for Ukrainian air defense to intercept.

According to Yaroslavsky, Ukrainians should be prepared for a new wave of energy terror and even more powerful attacks from the enemy from the first weeks of winter.

By the way, Russia is actively modernizing the infrastructure of the occupied Donetsk airport to launch attack drones at Ukrainian cities . Placing launch points closer to the front line will reduce the response time of Ukrainian air defense and increase the threat to both Ukraine and NATO countries.

It is worth adding that during the morning attack on July 31, Russian forces used ground-based Iskander-K cruise missiles, launched from the territory of the Kursk region. The enemy uses the tactic of launching missiles at very low altitudes , which significantly complicates their detection by Ukrainian air defenses.

At the same time, Ukrainians began to hear a new eerie sound in the night sky – it is about jet versions of Shahed kamikaze drones, which Russia began to use in recent days. This was the enemy’s response to the successes of Ukrainian anti-aircraft drones. So far, the attacks are not massive, but the appearance of a new type of drone may change the nature of threats from the air in the coming months.

It was previously reported that Russian “Shaheed” drones began performing complex maneuvers in flight to avoid being hit by Ukrainian interceptor drones .

Recall that the Russian troops may soon begin using updated “Shaheds”, which are capable of being controlled in real time . Instead of a pre-set flight route, there is manual control and coordination between several aircraft in the air.
