Russia is repairing captured Ukrainian drones for provocations in Europe: what is known

Russia has apparently begun using captured Ukrainian long-range drones for provocations, including against NATO countries. The Russian military is repairing the surviving Ukrainian drones and preparing them for further use.

According to the publication, the Russian military could have obtained such drones after they were forced to land due to electronic warfare or technical malfunctions. The surviving devices could have been restored, reprogrammed, or used to create copies.

The material also notes that this version may be supported by an incident in Moldova on June 8, 2026, when a drone exploded near the village of Lopatna during a Russian attack on Ukraine.

Ukrainian inscriptions were found on its wreckage, and the Moldovan Foreign Ministry stated that the device was most likely of Ukrainian origin. At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga stated that the drone was Russian.
