Russia continues a large-scale information campaign aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This time, Russian propaganda is spreading a fake “report” about alleged “crimes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine” in Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
The CPD noted that to distribute such materials, the Kremlin uses the so-called “international public tribunal” – a propaganda structure that has no international or legal status.
In the new “report”, the Ukrainian military is traditionally accused of allegedly attacking civilians, shooting civilians, and destroying residential buildings.
The Center emphasizes that such statements are not supported by any evidence. They are based solely on the testimonies of people whom the Russian side calls eyewitnesses.
The CPD also noted that Russia is keeping quiet about its own daily strikes on Kostyantynivka using artillery, guided bombs, and strike drones, which lead to the destruction of civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.
According to the Center, the distribution of such materials is part of a Russian disinformation campaign. Its goal is to shift responsibility for the destruction and deaths of civilians in frontline cities of the Donetsk region onto Ukraine.
