Russian propaganda is once again spreading disinformation about the alleged existence of so-called “death factories” in Ukraine for holding prisoners of war.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.

According to the agency, this is a fabricated story about basements and garages where Russian military personnel are allegedly being held and tortured. The CPD emphasizes that this is an example of the tactic of mirror projection – when the aggressor attributes its own crimes to the other side.

At the same time, it was Russia that created a system of places of detention in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and on its own territory.

According to the UN, torture or ill-treatment was recorded in at least 114 official places of detention in the occupied territories, as well as in 73 places in Russia where Ukrainian civilians were taken.

In addition, released Ukrainian prisoners of war provided testimony about torture and ill-treatment while in captivity.

It was previously reported that Russian diplomatic institutions are spreading information accusing international organizations of “double standards” in counting the number of dead journalists.

Recall that Russian propaganda launched a new fake about the alleged “execution of deserters” in the Ukrainian army to stabilize the front.
