Russia is stepping up surveillance of schoolchildren: FSB will gain access to cameras in schools
Russia is tightening its surveillance of schoolchildren. Authorities are collecting information about children through cameras in schools, online educational platforms, and social networks. Teachers are also being involved in the surveillance, who are supposed to check students’ online activity.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
According to the Central Intelligence Agency, Russian teachers are being forced to monitor students’ likes and comments on social media. At the same time, video surveillance cameras in educational institutions are planned to be directly connected to the systems of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Russian Guard.
All information about children, including their views, health, and families, will be collected in digital profiles. Russian law enforcement agencies will have access to this data.
The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasizes that under the pretext of security, the Kremlin is trying to establish control over citizens from school age. In fact, educational institutions are being turned into a tool for monitoring children.
