Russia is stockpiling new military equipment at storage bases, including those near NATO borders. This began after Russia emptied its storage bases following the war with Ukraine.

Russian media reported this, citing OSINT analysts. They emphasize that the reserve is being formed from new equipment that recently rolled off the production line.

In particular, it is noted that bases near the borders of the Baltic states and Finland are being actively replenished. From autumn 2025 to October 2026, the 22nd Central Reserve Base in the city of Buy in the Kostroma Region received newly manufactured T-90M and BTR-82A tanks, as well as BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles. This base is located approximately 500 km from the borders of Estonia and Latvia.

Also, the 374th Mobilization Deployment Support Center in Karelia (185 km from the border with Finland) will receive new Malva artillery systems and Giatsint-K self-propelled artillery units starting in 2025.

At the same time, it is noted that this equipment is not at the disposal of the troops and is not ready for deployment.

As a reminder, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service, Russia is developing scenarios for a possible military confrontation with European states by 2045. Potential targets of aggression include Poland and the Baltic states.
