Russia is already using artificial intelligence to plan attacks on Ukraine and identify targets. Specifically, elements of AI are being used to determine strike routes.
This was stated by Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Cherevashenko, during a meeting of the temporary investigative commission.
According to him, it is difficult to accurately assess the scale of Russian use of artificial intelligence, but Ukrainian military personnel are already detecting similar elements in the enemy’s work.
“It’s difficult to accurately assess the scale (of AI use – Ed.), but we see elements of AI in their work. Specifically, in the planning of strikes. There were continuous attacks on Odessa in waves, with very short pauses. In my opinion, without AI, this would have been very difficult,” Cherevashenko noted.
He noted that, at the very least, Russian attack routes could already be planned using artificial intelligence.
In addition, the Russian military uses AI to recognize targets.
At the same time, Ukraine is also implementing artificial intelligence technologies to counter Russian attacks. According to Cherevashenko, such systems are used in automated turrets, among other things.
“Same here. We’re also introducing artificial intelligence. For example, in automated turrets,” the Air Force representative added.
