On Wednesday night, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed or suppressed 101 drones out of 127 used by Russian forces to attack the country’s territory.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The airstrike began on the evening of December 30. Russia used Shahed, Gerber, and other types of drones, launching them from several directions in the Russian Federation, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea. The majority of the drones — about 80 — were Shahed.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare means, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces were involved in repelling the massive air attack.
As of 08:00 on December 31, Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or neutralized 101 enemy drones in the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
At the same time, 20 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 11 locations. The Air Force noted that the Russian drone attack is ongoing, and the defense forces are continuing their combat work.
