Russia launched 600 drones and missiles at Ukraine: how many did air defense shoot down?

On the night of December 22-23 (starting at 6:00 p.m. on December 22), the enemy carried out a combined attack on critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine, using both unmanned attack systems and missiles of various types – air- and ground-based.

This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The radio engineering units of the Air Force detected and tracked a total of 673 air targets: 38 missiles and 635 UAVs of various models. Details:

635 Shahed and Gerber strike drones (other drone models) were launched from Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as Chauda and Crimea. About 400 of them are Shahed drones.

3 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, which were launched from the territory of the Ryazan region of the Russian Federation.

35 Kh-101 and Iskander-K cruise missiles launched from the Vologda and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation.

The attack was repelled by Air Force units: aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare complexes and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.

As of 11:30, the destruction or suppression of 621 air targets has been provisionally confirmed:

587 Shahed, Gerber and other attack UAVs;

34 Kh-101 and Iskander-K cruise missiles.

As a result of the attack, 21 locations were hit – missiles and 39 strike UAVs reached their targets. Downed aircraft and debris fell in 8 different areas. In addition, three aeroballistic missiles did not reach their targets, the places of impact are being specified.
