On the night of Wednesday, July 23, Russia launched another massive air attack on Ukraine. The invaders used a ballistic missile, five guided aircraft missiles, and 168 strike and simulator drones. Air defense forces neutralized most of the air targets, but there were hits in several regions.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the military, the Russian army launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile from temporarily occupied Crimea, five Kh-59/69 guided aircraft missiles, as well as 168 drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parody simulator drones. The launches were carried out from the territory of Russia, temporarily occupied Donbas, and Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and mobile fire groups.
“As of 07:30, air defenses shot down or suppressed two Kh-59/69 guided aircraft missiles and 154 enemy drones of various types,” the Air Force reported.
At the same time, a ballistic missile, three guided aircraft missiles, and seven strike drones were recorded hitting nine locations. Debris from downed air targets also fell in four locations.
The Air Force stressed that the attack was still ongoing as of this morning, as several Russian drones remained in the airspace, and urged citizens not to ignore air alert signals.
