On the night of Thursday, July 2, Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv. The attack killed 10 people and injured 56 others. Two children were among the injured.
This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko.
“As of 05:10, 20 casualties have been confirmed as a result of the attack,” he wrote.
The data was subsequently updated several times. At 05:51, Tkachenko reported that the number of dead had increased to three and the number of wounded to 25. According to him, damage was recorded at 28 locations in different districts of the capital as a result of the shelling. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were the most affected.
Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that as of 06:17, there were already five dead and 34 injured in the capital. According to him, 32 people were hospitalized, and two more were treated on the spot.
As of 06:56, the number of victims had increased to 10. At the same time, Tkachenko and the State Emergency Service at that time reported nine deaths.
The latest updated data, released by the head of the KMVA at 07:30, indicates that 56 people were injured as a result of the Russian attack, including two children.
