Russia launched a massive attack on Zaporizhzhia and Sumy, leaving one dead and five injured.

On the night of September 21, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Zaporizhia. The strikes damaged civilian infrastructure, caused fires, and injured five people.

According to the State Emergency Service, two nine-story residential buildings were hit, with fires breaking out. Fires also broke out in the grounds of a shopping center and a university building. Rescuers rescued five people from the damaged buildings, and another 14 residents were evacuated.

Four people were injured when they hit one of the high-rise buildings, and one person was injured when they hit another. Among the injured were three men and two women.

That same night, Russian troops attacked Sumy. A drone struck near an apartment building, killing a woman and injuring a man. The city also suffered airstrikes, damaging one of the city’s educational institutions.

In Zaporizhzhia and Sumy, rescuers and emergency services continue to work at the sites of the strikes and deal with the aftermath of the attacks.
