On the night of June 15, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kyiv using ballistic missiles and drones. The shelling killed 4 people and injured at least 23, including a child.

This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachenko .

Air defense forces were on duty in the capital during the attack. Explosions were heard in various areas of the city, and the air alert was accompanied by threats of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.

According to Vitaliy Klitschko, damage and fires were recorded in almost all districts of Kyiv as a result of the attack. Emergency services worked at approximately 50 locations.

In the Obolonskyi district, fires broke out in residential buildings, warehouses and non-residential buildings. About 30 cars were also on fire. According to preliminary data, one of the residential buildings was destroyed between the 3rd and 4th floors, and a direct hit was recorded in a 9-story residential building.

In the Podilskyi district, falling debris caused fires in a private residential building and a three-story building.

In the Pechersk district, residential buildings and non-residential buildings were damaged. There was also a fire in a dormitory.

In the Solomyanskyi district, residential buildings were damaged. In addition, a fire was reported on the territory of an educational institution.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, residential buildings, infrastructure facilities and enterprises were damaged. According to Timur Tkachenko, 5 hits on civilian infrastructure were recorded in less than 30 minutes, including a 25-story residential building. A market and a grocery store were also on fire.

In the Holosiivskyi district, fires broke out at warehouse facilities, damaging a residential building and an infrastructure facility.

Residential buildings in the Dnipro district were damaged due to falling debris.

A fire broke out in a kindergarten in the Desnyanskyi district.

In the Darnytsia district, debris fell in open areas. Damage to residential buildings was also reported.

Separately, a fire was recorded on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. According to the mayor, the roof of the Assumption Cathedral caught fire.

At the same time, the State Emergency Service added that a fire broke out on the roof of the Assumption Cathedral on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, covering an area of about 800 sq. m. In addition, a fire broke out in the building of the National Cultural, Art and Museum Complex “Art Arsenal” covering an area of 1,000 sq. m.

The attack damaged power lines. According to Vitaliy Klitschko, 140,000 subscribers were left without power in the northern part of the capital.

As of 05:40, according to updated data, 23 people were injured in Kyiv , including a child. The death toll has increased to 4 people.

“Unfortunately, the number of deaths has increased to four people,” Timur Tkachenko said.
