Russia launched one of its largest attacks in recent memory overnight today, using more than 450 attack drones and around 30 missiles of various types against Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on Telegram.

According to him, the main attack again targeted energy infrastructure, primarily in the southern regions and the Odesa region. The attack injured two people in the Odesa region, and damaged more than a dozen civilian facilities across the country.

Following overnight shelling, thousands of families were left without power in the Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions. Strikes were also recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy regions.

The President noted that all relevant services are working to restore power and water supplies to the affected communities. He stated that the massive attacks demonstrate Russia’s intention to continue its terror against civilians.

“It’s important for everyone to see what Russia is doing now. Every step they take in terrorizing our people is definitely not the end of the war. They want to continue to destroy our state and inflict as much pain on our people as possible. That’s why we need support in everything that will help protect lives and end the war: strengthening air defenses, supporting our soldiers on the front lines, developing long-range capabilities, and increasing pressure on Russia,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

As a reminder, on the night of December 13, the Russian occupation army launched a massive air attack on Ukraine using attack drones and, after midnight, missiles. Critical energy and industrial infrastructure in several regions came under attack.
