Russia launched over 180 drones over Ukraine: how it tested its air defense

On the night of August 3, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 181 strike drones of various types. Air defense forces destroyed or suppressed 163 air targets, but hits were recorded at 13 locations.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, the enemy used Shahed-type strike UAVs, in particular jet-powered ones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas drones, Parody-type simulator drones, and others. The launches were carried out from the areas of Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovoye, Orel, Shatalovoye, temporarily occupied Donetsk, and Gvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data as of 07:30, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 163 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.

At the same time, 14 strike drones were recorded hitting 13 locations, as well as debris from downed targets falling in 2 locations.

The Air Force noted that the attack is ongoing as several Russian drones remain in the airspace, and urged citizens to follow safety rules.
