On the night of Wednesday, July 9, Russia launched a large-scale air attack on Ukrainian territory. Within a few hours, air defense forces neutralized 718 targets out of a total of 741.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The aggressor used various types of weapons. Most of the attacks were carried out using “Shahed” type strike drones, which were launched from the territory of the Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol regions, as well as from the Primorsky-Akhtarsk and Millerovo regions. In addition to drones, Russian troops launched seven “X-101” and “Iskander-K” cruise missiles from the Kursk region and the Engels region of the Saratov region into Ukraine. Additionally, six launches of “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles were recorded, which flew from the airspace of the Lipetsk region.
The most powerful blow, according to the Air Force, fell on Lutsk. There, active air defense actions were observed, as well as consequences in the form of damage and fires on the territory of enterprises and infrastructure facilities.
Despite the scale of the shelling, Ukrainian air defenses continue to operate effectively, reducing the threat to civilians even during such massive attacks.
As a reminder, Russian troops used strike drones, cruise missiles, and Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles to shell Lutsk.
As reported, as of the morning of July 9, Russia had lost about 1,029,660 military personnel since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the course of the day, the enemy’s losses in manpower reached 1,050 people.
In addition, over the past 24 hours, 183 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The hottest situation remains in the Pokrov direction.
