Russia launches massive attack on Odessa: fires in high-rise buildings, 16 injured

On the night of Thursday, April 30, Russian occupation forces launched a massive attack on Odessa. Residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure in various areas of the city came under fire.

This was announced by the head of the MVA, Serhiy Lysak.

The Primorsky district suffered the most.

“A high-rise building and a five-story residential building were damaged: large-scale fires broke out on the upper floors and roof,” the head of the OVA reported.

Rescuers managed to contain the fire. Private homes in the central part of the city were also damaged.

Social facilities were also hit.

“The kindergarten building was significantly damaged, and a shopping center, hotel, and administrative buildings were damaged,” he noted.

In addition, dozens of buses and cars were destroyed or damaged in several parking lots.

In the Khadzhibey district, hits were recorded on infrastructure, warehouses, and garages.

At least 16 people were injured in the attack, including a 17-year-old boy.

“Two people are in intensive care in serious condition, doctors are fighting for their lives,” the official said.

Another man was hospitalized, and the others were treated at the scene.

Dozens of pieces of equipment and hundreds of rescuers were involved in the elimination of the consequences. Assistance headquarters were deployed in the city for residents of damaged buildings.
