The Russians launched an information and psychological operation to discredit Ukraine, involving family members of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
It is noted that the Russians are sending mass messages and calls to the families of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
“Russian agents, using blackmail, demand that in exchange for including their relatives in the exchange lists, they send mass letters accusing representatives of the Ukrainian authorities of allegedly refusing to exchange them,” the report says.
People are also forced to send these letters to international organizations, government agencies of Ukraine and the United States, in particular the UN, and the White House Administration.
The Central Intelligence Agency explained that the enemy is trying to use fabricated letters as evidence in order to discredit Ukraine before the international community and destabilize the situation in Ukraine.
“We urge you to be vigilant and not succumb to hostile provocations. Do not respond to messages from suspicious contacts, do not provide personal information, do not follow dubious links. If you receive a provocative message or call, contact law enforcement,” the Central Prosecution Service urged.
It was previously reported that the Russians are spreading a fake about alleged preparations for the mandatory mobilization of women in Ukraine in order to sow panic and destabilize the situation in the country .
