Russia massively involves foreigners in the war: representatives of at least 5 countries are fighting near Volchansk

Russia is involving mercenaries from a number of countries in the war against Ukraine, in particular, citizens of China, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and African countries are currently fighting near Volchansk in the Kharkiv region.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

As the head of state noted, he visited the military in the Kharkiv region, where he discussed with the commanders the situation at the front, the defense of Vovchansk, and the dynamics of the fighting.

Separately, according to Zelensky, the issues of providing drones and their use, recruiting and direct financing of brigades were raised.

“Soldiers in this direction are recording the participation in the war of mercenaries from China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and African countries. We will react,” he assured.

We will remind, in July, in the Zaporizhia direction , servicemen of the GUR unit “Legion “Freedom of Russia” captured a mercenary from Africa , who joined the ranks of the Russian army.

By the way, the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured Togolese citizens who participated in the war on the side of the Russian army.

Earlier, near Toretsk in the Donetsk region , the Ukrainian Defense Forces captured another Chinese mercenary .

It is known that from April 2023 to May 2024 , Russia recruited more than 1,500 foreign citizens to wage war against Ukraine.
