Russia has already postponed the deadline for entering the administrative borders of the Donetsk region 15 times. Currently, the Russian political leadership wants to capture Donbas by the end of 2026, while the military is asking for the deadline to be extended to March 31, 2027.

This was announced by the Deputy Head of the President’s Office, Pavlo Palisa.

According to him, Russian troops have been unable to achieve the necessary operational success in the Donetsk region for years, which is why the deadlines are constantly changing.

Palisa noted that the Ukrainian side spoke about Russia’s plans and the reasons why they remain unrealized with representatives of the administration of US President Donald Trump – Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The deputy head of the OP also emphasized the high price of Russian promotion.

“For the advances the Russians have made on the front, they are paying a heavy price — hundreds of soldiers killed and wounded per square kilometer,” Palisa said.

He also spoke about Russian airstrikes and the use of jet drones. According to Palisa, Ukraine is already working on means to intercept them.

In particular, he also emphasized that the support of partners directly affects the number of lives saved — both military and civilian.

It was previously reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the strengthening of Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk region and the definition of further steps to strengthen defense.
