Russia promised to hand over five Ukrainian children from the list that the Russian side received during the negotiations in Istanbul by the end of June.

This was stated by the Commissioner for Children’s Rights of the Russian Federation, Maria Lvova-Belova, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian media reported.

“We can say about five people who were already employed by us from this list, ready to return to the territory of Ukraine,” the ombudsman noted.

At the same time, the official said that the Russian Federation is also preparing a list of children who are allegedly in Ukraine and “need to be reunited with their families.” The Russian ombudswoman, for whom the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant, said that “it is wrong for Ukraine to provide lists of children.”

“We also have children who are on the territory of Ukraine and are demanding reunification with their Russian families,” Lvova-Belova says.

According to a Kremlin official, Moscow will hand over the finished list to Kyiv during the third round of negotiations.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russians offered to exchange kidnapped Ukrainian children for Russian prisoners of war.

As reported, the Russian occupiers took 50 children from the Antratsytivskyi district , which is located in the occupied part of the Luhansk region, to Kalmykia in the Russian Federation under the pretext of “rehabilitation.”
