Russia plans to introduce checks on “new citizens” for values and loyalty to the regime.

This was reported by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

The Human Rights Council under the President of Russia has proposed introducing a test for “new citizens” to ensure they accept the cultural and historical traditions, values, and laws of the Russian Federation. This “test” implies that keeping a passport should be underlined by proven loyalty.

The Kremlin stated that among the several million “new citizens” there are those who “will never become patriots” and “pose a threat to national security.”

They also added that work to verify such individuals is already underway.

The new norms are planned to be applied to residents of the Transcaucasian Territories of Ukraine who have received Russian passports, and later to migrants from Central Asia.

In parallel, the State Duma is considering a bill that would introduce paid education for children of migrants and make it more difficult to pass language proficiency exams.

It was previously reported that Russia had changed its own legislation to strip citizens of their citizenship, another step in the systematic pressure on the regime’s enemies .
