Russia produces more ballistic missiles than the world’s Patriot interceptors – Flash

Russia produces more ballistic missiles than the world produces interceptors for Patriot systems, making it increasingly difficult for Ukraine to protect its cities from missile attacks.
This was stated by Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, a non-staff advisor to the President of Ukraine on the development of technological areas of defense, during a briefing, Ukrinform reports .
“Russia produces more ballistic missiles than the world produces Patriots against these missiles. That is, this balance looks very strange,” he noted.
According to Beskrestnov, the situation is also complicated by missile production in North Korea and Iran. The world needs to increase production of PAC-3 interceptors, but production capacity is limited.
Ukraine can obtain licenses for its own production of anti-ballistic missiles, but there is a problem with components. Kyiv also asks partners to provide missiles on loan with subsequent return after production is established, but European countries do not agree to this.
“These missiles are in the United States, and there is a stock somewhere, some say 3 thousand, some say 4 thousand, 5 thousand missiles are in the US, and in order to, for example, cover Kyiv, where the Patriot operates, for the winter, we need somewhere around 4-5% of the US stock. This is a very small part,” the adviser said.
He emphasized that the transfer of additional missiles depends on the political decision of the US government.
According to Beskrestnov, the situation on the front remains stable, but the biggest threat is Russian strikes on cities and economic infrastructure.
The adviser warned that Russia is stockpiling missiles and Shahed rockets for further attacks. One of the main targets, he believes, will be Kyiv.
“Kyiv is a symbolic place for our enemy. He understands that the government is here, he understands that the world community is watching Kyiv. That is why he wants to attack Kyiv,” Beskrestnov emphasized.
As a reminder, on October 26, Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat spoke about the shortage of Patriot missiles . According to him, the interceptors spent during hostilities in the Middle East could last Ukraine several years.
Poland previously said it had no Patriot missiles to transfer to Ukraine . Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski explained this by a shortage of interceptors and called on other NATO countries to share existing stocks.
