Russia records record increase in fuel imports from Belarus due to strikes on refineries – media

In July, Belarus sharply increased its supply of gasoline and diesel fuel to Russia, citing fuel shortages that arose after Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries.

According to the agency, in early July, gasoline production in Russia fell to about 65% of average seasonal consumption. Diesel output also fell almost to the level of domestic demand, which led Russian authorities to impose strict restrictions on exports.
As a result, rail deliveries of Belarusian gasoline to the Russian Federation in July increased by 13% compared to June and reached 212 thousand tons. Imports of diesel fuel doubled during the same period – to 162 thousand tons.
In total, in the first seven months of 2026, Russia imported almost 665 thousand tons of gasoline from Belarus, which is 25 times more than in the same period last year. Diesel fuel supplies increased almost sevenfold – to 418 thousand tons.
In addition to Belarus, Russia has also begun purchasing gasoline from India, Kazakhstan, and Morocco to compensate for the fuel shortage in the domestic market.
It was previously reported that drones attacked the Wildberries logistics center near the village of Khryastovo in the Vladimir region of the Russian Federation. The strike caused a fire in the warehouse complex, and local authorities confirmed the attack.
It was also reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s unmanned systems struck a convoy of Russian fuel trucks in temporarily occupied Primorsk, Zaporizhia region .
