Energy Minister German Galushchenko stated in parliament that Russia has resumed large-scale attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Energy Minister German Galushchenko said this during the government question hour in the Verkhovna Rada.

According to him, the energy system is currently operating in a stable mode, which is what consumers are experiencing.

“But, of course, the situation is complicated. First of all, this is a consequence of the unprecedented attacks on the energy system that took place last year and this year. Unfortunately, the attacks have resumed now, there were large-scale attacks last week and daily attacks on the relevant equipment in the frontline regions,” Galushchenko said.

The minister stressed that the resumption of massive shelling could have a significant impact on the energy infrastructure.

“The restoration of massive strikes, and there were 33 of them in the energy sector last year, could affect the work of the corresponding generation, transmission and distribution of electricity,” he summed up.

Let us recall that on June 20, the Russian occupation army launched a massive drone strike on Odessa , more than 10 hits were recorded, which resulted in large-scale fires. Fourteen people were injured, including three rescuers.

Also, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna, Yuriy Vitrenko, stated that Ukraine has information about Russia preparing new attacks on the energy sector, in particular, on nuclear power facilities.
