On the night of Tuesday, July 29, Russian troops carried out another attack on the territory of Zaporizhzhia region. One of the airstrikes hit a correctional colony. The shelling resulted in significant destruction and numerous casualties.

This was announced by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

“At night, the Russians shelled one of the penitentiary institutions. People died, there are wounded. Not only the premises of the institution, but also the residential buildings nearby were destroyed,” Fedorov noted.

According to preliminary data, there were at least eight strikes, presumably using FAB-type aerial bombs. One of them hit the correctional colony directly.

According to the head of the OVA, 16 people were killed and another 35 were injured. All the injured are receiving medical assistance.

Andriy Yermak, head of the President’s Office, commented on the attack, emphasizing that Russia has once again violated the norms of international law.

“Putin’s regime, which through the mouths of certain representatives also threatens the United States, must suffer both economic and military blows that will deprive it of the ability to wage war. As long as it builds up its military industry and cooperates with the DPRK, the threat of a new war in Europe remains quite real,” Yermak wrote.

As a reminder, on Monday, July 28, Russian occupation troops attacked the Kharkiv region , and the Dergachiv community came under attack from drones.
