Russia has shown off a modernized BM-35 jet-powered attack drone. Russian propagandists claim it can reach speeds of over 350 km/h and cover a range of over 200 km.
This was announced by presidential advisor Sergei “Flash” Beskrestnov.
According to Russian claims, the BM-35 can be prepared for launch in a matter of minutes. The drone is launched from a mobile platform, and the operator can supposedly control it throughout the flight.
Russian operators also claim that Ukrainian electronic warfare equipment allegedly does not affect the operation of the drone.
The BM-35 has a warhead weighing about 10 kg. The claimed speed of the vehicle exceeds 350 km/h, and the flight range is 200 km.
According to the Russian military, the high speed makes it difficult to intercept the drone. The BM-35 is allegedly used by the Sever group in the border areas of Kharkiv and Sumy regions to strike Ukrainian logistics, positions and movement routes.
At the same time, Ukraine is developing means of countering such targets, including interceptors with jet engines to increase speed.
Recall that in August, Russian industry produced about 3,000 Geran-4/5 jet drones per month , which exceeds the output of Geran-2. Russia is reconfiguring part of its production capacity for new jet drones, despite problems with the supply of engines.
By the way, Russia continues to increase the production of missile weapons and strike drones and is preparing to maintain the intensity of attacks on Ukraine . According to the deputy head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Vadim Skibitsky, the Russian Federation may reduce the number of missiles it uses per target, but a pause in the shelling is unlikely.
