Russian propaganda is spreading fake claims that Ukraine allegedly shelled its own rear positions during the so-called “Easter truce.” This refers to the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia regions.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.

The CPD notes that there is no evidence for such accusations. The Russian side is limited to statements by pro-Kremlin speakers without confirmation by facts.

At the same time, the Ukrainian side recorded more than 10,000 ceasefire violations by Russian troops.

The Central Intelligence Agency emphasizes that the purpose of such informational attacks is to justify their own shelling and shift responsibility onto Ukraine.

As previously reported, Russian propaganda is once again spreading disinformation about the alleged existence of so-called “death factories” in Ukraine for holding prisoners of war.

Recall that Russian propaganda launched a new fake about the alleged “execution of deserters” in the Ukrainian army to stabilize the front.
