Russia strikes Konotop: part of the city left without electricity and gas
On the morning of Thursday, June 11, Russian occupation forces struck Konotop in Sumy Oblast. The attack damaged residential and transport infrastructure, and part of the city was temporarily left without utilities.
The consequences of the shelling were reported by the city mayor, Artem Semenikhin.
“Residential buildings and the city’s transport infrastructure were hit,” he noted.
According to the mayor, the enemy attack caused power, water, and gas outages. Utilities and emergency services immediately began responding to the impact.
“As a result of the arrival, the gas supply network was damaged. Emergency gas crews are currently working,” Semenikhin said.
It is also known about the victim. The woman born in 1984 was injured. Doctors provided her with the necessary assistance, and she will undergo further treatment on an outpatient basis.
City authorities urged residents to monitor official announcements and, if possible, stock up on water while restoration work continues.
Currently, experts are continuing to inspect damaged facilities and clarify the extent of the destruction after another Russian attack.
