Russia strikes Kyiv with missiles and drones: there are deaths, injuries and large-scale destruction

On the night of Thursday, July 10, Russia launched a combined strike on Kyiv. During the airstrike, kamikaze drones and various types of missiles were used in the city. The enemy strikes killed two people and injured 14 others.

This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Administration, Timur Tkachenko.

As of this morning, nine victims were hospitalized, while the rest were provided with medical assistance on the spot or on an outpatient basis.

As a result of the attack, debris from downed targets fell in at least six districts of the capital: Shevchenkivskyi, Darnytskyi, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, Podilskyi, and Obolonskyi.

The greatest consequences were recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Residential and non-residential buildings, as well as a gas station, caught fire here.

According to the mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, the upper floor of one of the buildings caught fire, and the facades and roofs of the buildings were also damaged. Some of the debris fell near the gas station. The fire was quickly contained by rescuers.

The Head of the Shevchenkivsk Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Sazanovych, reported that significant damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded, as well as three casualties.

In Darnytsia district, falling debris caused fires in garages and at a gas station. In addition, debris fell in the yard of one of the residential buildings. Damage to facades and property was previously recorded.

In Solomyanskyi district, a fire broke out in a non-residential building. Falling debris was recorded at another address. Ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene.

In the Holosiivskyi district, debris hit a truck, causing it to catch fire.

In the Podilskyi district, debris fell on the territory of a non-residential facility.

Falling debris was also recorded in the Obolon district, but according to preliminary data, there was no large-scale destruction.

The KMVA Ochilink appealed to residents to close their windows due to heavy smoke in the city.

“After returning from shelters, close the windows. There is a lot of smoke in the air. The situation is under control, but work to eliminate the consequences of the attack is ongoing,” he noted.

Rescue services continue to work on the scene. Information is being clarified.

As a reminder, as of the morning of July 10, Russia had lost about 1,030,580 military personnel since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the course of the day, the enemy’s losses in manpower reached 920 people.

As reported, on the night of Wednesday, July 9, Kyiv and the region were hit by another Russian drone strike . In the Brovary district, a woman born in 1980 was injured as a result of the attack.
