Russia strikes Lutsk and Kyiv region with missiles and drones: enterprise on fire, one injured

On the night of Wednesday, July 9, Kyiv and the region were hit by another Russian drone strike. In the Brovary district, a woman born in 1980 was injured as a result of the attack.

This was reported by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk.

According to him, the victim is being hospitalized to a local medical facility. Doctors previously diagnosed her with a closed chest fracture. The victim is already being provided with the necessary assistance.

Kalashnik also added that regional services are working at the scene of the incident to promptly eliminate the consequences of the attack.

Air defenses were also operating over Kyiv, Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said. Drones were spotted in the sky over the city after midnight, but there is currently no information on the consequences of the attack.

According to the press center of the Air Force Command, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with missiles and strike drones.

According to the Air Force, the missiles headed west. In particular, explosions were heard in Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk.

To shell Lutsk, Russian troops used strike drones, cruise missiles, and Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.

Mayor Ihor Polishchuk reported on the situation and the operation of air defense systems.

As of this morning, it became known about fires on the territory of one of the enterprises and in a garage cooperative.

“We are recording fires and damage to garages in the cooperative, as well as fires at the enterprise. Other details of the damage are still being clarified. Fortunately, there is currently no information about casualties among the civilian population. Thank God! We express great gratitude to our air defense forces,” Polishchuk commented around 6 am.

The mayor also noted that this shelling was the largest ever for the Lutsk community.

As a reminder, as of the morning of July 9, Russia has lost about 1,029,660 military personnel since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the course of the day, the enemy’s losses in manpower reached 1,050 people.
