Russia strikes Sumy with drones: there are wounded, including a teenager

On the night of Tuesday, April 21, Russian occupation forces massively attacked Sumy with drones. Residential areas and infrastructure were hit. A medical facility, in particular, was hit. A series of explosions were heard in the city, and there are injuries.

This was announced by Sumy City Mayor Artem Kobzar, Head of the City Military Administration Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, and the regional police.

According to Kobzar, there were several strikes, and some of them hit residential buildings.

“The enemy continues to attack our city. A series of explosions were heard. More than 5 hits were recorded in one of the residential areas of the Zarichny district. Windows in residential buildings have been broken, cars are burning,” he noted.

The mayor also clarified that one of the drones hit the roof of a medical facility.

Initially, four victims were reported.

“As a result of the nighttime enemy attack on Sumy, 4 people were previously injured, including a 17-year-old child: she and two men were hospitalized. Another person was provided with assistance on the spot,” Kryvosheyenko reported.

Later, the police clarified that the number of injured had increased to six. Among them is a 17-year-old child. Law enforcement officers added that the information is still being updated, and the extent of the damage is currently being established.
