Russia strikes Ukrzaliznytsia facilities: there are dead and wounded

During a massive attack on Ukraine on May 13, Russian forces launched 23 strikes on Ukrzaliznytsia facilities in the west, north, and central parts of the country. Two railway workers were killed in the shelling.

Energy infrastructure, bridges, passenger, wagon and locomotive depots in Transcarpathia, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Volyn, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions were hit.

They also recorded a hit on rolling stock – three locomotives were damaged during the night.

Ukrzaliznytsia noted that thanks to the work of monitoring centers and prompt informing of employees and passengers, it was possible to avoid casualties among passengers.

“None of our passengers were injured during this massive attack, and trains continue to operate on all routes,” the company said.

There were no fatalities at the workplace either, but one worker was injured while rushing to shelter.

Meanwhile, in the railway town of Zdolbuniv, enemy strikes claimed the lives of two Ukrzaliznytsia employees. They were not at their workplaces at the time of the attack. Another employee was injured there.

Due to constant air threats, temporary train delays, operational changes to the schedule, and route adjustments are possible.

Passengers were urged to carefully monitor announcements on trains, at stations and stations and to be understanding of possible changes during their travels.

As previously reported, Russian forces launched a massive attack on several regions of Ukraine with drones on May 13. Explosions were heard in Odessa, Lutsk, Kyiv, Kherson, Transcarpathia, and Rivne Oblast . There were deaths, injuries, fires, and damage to civilian infrastructure.
