The day before, Russian occupiers used drones to strike Ukrainian energy infrastructure, resulting in consumers in several regions being left without electricity today.

This was reported by Ukrenergo.

In particular, there is a power outage in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions in the morning. There, specialists are working to eliminate the consequences of shelling and restore power supply.

In addition, the most difficult situation remains in the Odessa region, where the enemy attacked energy facilities on the night of December 13.

Due to previous massive strikes, most regions are implementing power curtailment measures for industry and business and hourly outage schedules for residential consumers.

According to Ukrenergo, recently, as a result of the decrease in the number of power outages, electricity consumption has been increasing. Thus, today its level was 7.1% higher than the previous working day, while yesterday the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening – 12.6% higher than the maximum of the previous Sunday.

“In regions where hourly shutdowns are currently in effect, there remains a need for energy conservation. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, move energy-intensive processes to night hours,” the company urged.

Recall that Russia has chosen a new tactic for attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure: now the occupiers are targeting facilities that were previously “untouchable”, however, energy remains a priority area of attack .
