Russia struck Kharkiv’s energy infrastructure with five missiles in half an hour.

On the afternoon of January 5, Russian troops launched five missile strikes on energy infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv.

This was reported by the city mayor Oleg Terekhov.

According to him, all five missiles hit the city within approximately 30 minutes, and the damage caused was significant. Terekhov emphasized that even enhanced defenses are not capable of withstanding such attacks.

“We can strengthen the defenses – concrete, metal, shelter, but no structure can withstand five ballistic missiles,” the mayor noted.

He emphasized that this is a blow not only to infrastructure, but also to heat, water, and the normal life of city residents.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office has classified the shelling as a war crime and opened a criminal investigation under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The type of missiles used in the attack will be determined after forensic examination.

As a reminder, on the night of January 5, Russia launched airstrikes on Kyiv, resulting in one death and several injuries. The attack also caused significant destruction in the Kyiv region, particularly in the Fastiv district.
