Russia struck the railway in Sumy and Kharkiv regions: wagons and depots were damaged

On the night of October 31, Russian troops attacked railway infrastructure in two regions of Ukraine — Sumy and Kharkiv. The strikes damaged Ukrzaliznytsia facilities and rolling stock, and one of the passenger trains was forced to change its route.

This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.

In Sumy, the occupiers struck a passenger depot. As a result of the shelling, part of the utility rooms were destroyed and the company’s cars were damaged. In order to prevent a delay in the flight, passenger train No. 779/780 “Sumy — Kyiv” was provided with a replacement train, and it departed on schedule.

In the Kharkiv region, the railway infrastructure near Lozova was hit. Due to damage to the tracks, train No. 228/227 “Husarivka — Ivano-Frankivsk” is temporarily traveling on a changed route.

Ukrzaliznytsia assured that they are doing everything possible to minimize the delay in the schedule. According to preliminary data, there are no injured workers – everyone took shelter in time.

As a reminder, on the evening of October 30 , the Russian army launched a massive strike on Sumy, sending 10 kamikaze drones into the city in one hour . The attack damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, and injured at least four people.

As reported, Russia seeks to cut off rail connections between Chernihiv and Sumy regions by blocking the main routes.
