Russia struck the railway in three regions: there is damage to rolling stock
On Tuesday, May 5, Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine’s railway infrastructure with drones. Facilities in Kharkiv, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk regions were hit.
This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
At around 07:30 in the Kharkiv region, an enemy drone destroyed a railway car. At the same time, people managed to take shelter thanks to the work of the monitoring center, so there were no casualties.
In Poltava region, a drone hit between the tracks next to a diesel locomotive. The explosion damaged the carriage and caused a fire, but there were no casualties.
Another strike was recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where a UAV damaged an electric locomotive on the tracks. The train had been stopped in advance due to an air raid alert, and the workers were in shelters.
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties in any of the cases. The railway infrastructure was damaged, and restoration work is underway.
