Russia struck Ukraine with Zircons, Onyxes and Iskanders: how it practiced air defense

On the night of Wednesday, September 30, Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles and 188 strike drones. The main direction of the attack was the Kyiv region. Air defense forces destroyed and suppressed 160 air targets, but hits were recorded at 18 locations.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 08:00.
According to the military, Russian troops launched Zircon and Onyx anti-ship missiles from the Kursk region. The enemy attacked with Iskander-M and S-400 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh and Bryansk regions of the Russian Federation.
In addition, the Russians used 188 strike UAVs. Among them were Shahed, Gerbera, and Parody simulators. 86 of the drones were jet-powered.
The launches were carried out from the Orel, Millerovoye, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk districts, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region and Crimea — from the Gvardiysky and Chaudy districts.
The air attack was repelled by fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, the air defense destroyed or suppressed 160 targets: 5 missiles and 155 drones of various types.
At the same time, airstrikes were recorded at 18 locations. The attack was still ongoing as of 08:00 — several Russian UAVs remained in the airspace.
The Air Force urged not to ignore air traffic control signals and to follow safety rules.
