Russia intends to spend about $1.1 trillion on military rearmament by 2036.
This was stated by the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, during a panel discussion at a meeting of ambassadors.
According to Budanov, a total mobilization of politics, economics and society is taking place in Russia to prepare for a possible large-scale war; two new military districts have been created and the formation of new divisions and units is planned.
In addition, Russia is actively expanding its influence in Africa through proxy forces, supporting authoritarian regimes, terrorist organizations, and conducting hybrid information and cyber attacks abroad.
“Moscow wants to impose its own vision on the world, where “great” states, in particular the Russian Federation, have a monopoly on resources and make key decisions,” Budanov noted.
He also thanked Ukrainian diplomats for their assistance in international support for Ukraine and cooperation with the GUR.
Earlier, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov , stated that a ceasefire on the Ukrainian-Russian front should be achieved in 2025.
