The head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, spoke about the failed attempt by the Russians to attack the city of Pivdenne in the Odessa region with naval drones.

He told reporters about this during the awarding ceremony for the participants of the Magura project.

Budanov shared the plans of the Russians, who were trying to apply their experimental models of sea drones in the city of Pivdenne in the Odessa region.

He noted that the Russian drones exploded in Russian territorial waters. The head of the GUR added that this happened in early June.

“They tried to use experimental models (of naval drones – ed.), but they did not show any results. They detonated in their waters, they did not even reach our territorial waters. According to our information, they were heading for the city of Pivdenne and were looking for their targets there, but they were unsuccessful,” Budanov said.

It was previously reported that Norway will develop and manufacture unmanned surface drones in Ukraine using its own technologies .
