Russia used the truce in Oleshki to strengthen troops – General Staff

Russian troops used the ceasefire in the area of temporarily occupied Oleshki in the Kherson region to rotate units, strengthen positions, and bring in ammunition. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces adhered to the agreements.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, during the humanitarian pause, the Russians were equipping their positions, expanding anti-drone defense on the roads, and strengthening logistics.

“During the period of silence, the rotation of Russian units, the strengthening of positions, the expansion of anti-drone equipment on the roads, and the increase in logistics, including the delivery of ammunition, were recorded,” the General Staff noted.

At the same time, the Ukrainian military acted exclusively within the framework of the agreements reached. Thanks to the humanitarian operation, aid was delivered to Oleshki, and residents who wanted to leave the city returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

As a reminder, on October 31, it became known about the return of residents of occupied Oleshki to Ukraine . The evacuees crossed the border in Chernihiv region after a humanitarian operation with the participation of the Ukrainian and American sides.

Previously, a curfew was imposed in the Oleshki district , which was in effect from October 27 to 10:59 p.m. on November 1. Its purpose was to deliver humanitarian aid and organize the departure of civilians.
