Russia has responded positively to US President Donald Trump’s initiative to create the so-called Peace Council.

This is reported by “European Truth”.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow has already received specific proposals, including a draft charter for the Peace Council. According to him, this initiative, in the opinion of the Russian side, indicates a change in Washington’s approaches.

“This reflects the United States’ understanding that even they are proceeding from the need to gather a group of countries that will cooperate in one direction or another,” Lavrov said.

He also described the Trump team as an “administration of pragmatists,” which, he said, is aware of the need to take into account the interests of other states.

“It understands the need not only to unite countries under its leadership, but also to fully take into account their legitimate interests,” the Russian Foreign Minister added.

Earlier, it was reported that US President Donald Trump confirmed that he had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the so-called “Peace Council”, which is supposed to oversee the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump has invited leaders of 49 countries to join the Gaza Peace Council he created. Ukraine is among the invitees.
