Russia plans to seek significant changes to the “peace plan” developed by Ukraine and the United States, which currently consists of 20 points.

This is stated in the Bloomberg article.

According to sources, the draft allegedly lacks provisions important to the Russian side, and it also “does not answer many questions.”

The Russian Federation considers the current plan a starting point for future negotiations on a peace agreement.

As an interlocutor close to the Kremlin said, Russia views the document as “a fairly typical Ukrainian plan” and plans to study it with a “cool head.”

Currently, there are significant differences between the parties on territorial issues: the Russian Federation demands control over the unoccupied territory of the Donetsk region, which is unacceptable for Ukraine.

In addition, the Kremlin seeks to obtain guarantees from further NATO expansion to the east, as well as to ensure neutral status for Ukraine in the event of its accession to the European Union.

In the peace plan, there are no restrictions on the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and types of weapons of Kyiv, which the Russian leadership demands.

Among other things, the Kremlin wants “clarity” on the issue of lifting sanctions and access to hundreds of billions of dollars of frozen Russian state assets in the West.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented details of a 20-point draft basic document on the end of the war between Ukraine, the United States, Russia, and the European Union.

Recall, US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that for Ukraine, the loss of Donetsk is a logically serious problem from a national security perspective.

As reported, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that about 5% of the work remains before concluding a peace agreement on Ukraine, but these stages are the most difficult.
