Russian special services and propagandists are carefully studying how to exploit the situation in Ukraine amid protests over the adoption of Bill No. 12414.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate.
The GUR notes that the Russians’ goal is to use the protests to undermine Ukraine’s ability to resist Russian aggression.
According to intelligence estimates, Russia intends to discredit Ukraine in the world in order to weaken or destroy support for the fight against the aggressor.
The GUR also revealed that the Russians are considering taking advantage of public discontent to exacerbate the situation within the country.
“To raise the level of protests, deepen the polarization and chaos of Ukrainian society, and, as a result, the loss of stability of the state during an existential war, provocative actions inspired by Moscow are not ruled out,” the GUR warns.
The intelligence officers called on Ukrainians to “be prudent in their assessments and actions.”
“The Ukrainian nation is in a genocidal war, in which the aggressor is trying by all means to destroy our state,” the department urged.
As a reminder, on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada voted for a bill that significantly limits the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) , effectively subordinating their activities to the Prosecutor General.
It should be noted that Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a resonant law that significantly changes the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP), strengthening control by the Prosecutor General.
By the way, the Verkhovna Rada plans to prepare a submission to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to repeal Law No. 12414, which limits the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP).
