The Russian company Bureau 1440, which is developing the Rassvet satellite system, has introduced three models of subscriber terminals. Their characteristics should be similar to various Starlink devices.

This was reported by the company’s press service.

A Russian developer announced the creation of three types of equipment for connecting to satellite communications.

The most powerful of them is “1440.ULTRA”. This is a serial terminal, which, according to the declared characteristics, can provide data transmission at speeds up to 700 Mbit/s. It is planned to be used at industrial enterprises, remote areas and infrastructure facilities, as well as installed on various equipment.

The second device, ” 1440.EARTH,” is designed for rail transport. The company claims that the terminal will be able to support satellite communications on rolling stock moving at speeds of up to 400 km/h.

The third option is ” 1440.MINI” . This is a compact terminal, conceptually similar to Starlink Mini. The developers claim a target data transfer rate of about 100 Mbps. The device is designed for a small number of users and can be used as a portable means of communication for rescuers, emergency services and in other mobile scenarios.

According to the declared purpose, characteristics and dimensions, ” 1440.ULTRA” corresponds to the standard Starlink Standard terminal, and ” 1440.EARTH” – Starlink Performance. In turn, “1440.MINI” is an analogue of Starlink Mini, but currently exists only as a concept.

Such terminals could potentially be used on Russian strike drones, in particular to provide communications during attacks on Ukraine.

What is known about the “Rassvet” system?

“Bureau 1440” is simultaneously deploying its own low-orbit satellite communications system “Rassvet”.

In March 2026, the company launched the first 16 satellites of the target group into orbit, and in July, another 16 devices.

According to the developer, the system uses 5G NTN technology to provide communication between satellites and ground terminals. Laser communication is used to exchange data directly between satellites.

During tests, the company claimed that the satellites were able to transmit data at distances of up to 1,000 km at speeds of up to 10 Gbps.

It was previously reported that Russia is significantly ahead of its own plans to deploy the Rassvet satellite system, which is positioned as the Russian equivalent of Starlink.
