Russian occupation forces fired artillery at volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in Kherson. In particular, a evacuation vehicle was damaged.
The organization reported this on its Facebook page.
It is noted that on August 9, at about 10:00 p.m., Russian troops began intensive artillery shelling of Kherson, concentrating fire on the Ostrov microdistrict, from where a mass evacuation of the population is taking place.
Subsequently, at around 23:10, another attack took place near the location of the rapid response unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Kherson region.
The hit damaged a Toyota Land Cruiser, which volunteers use to evacuate people, deliver humanitarian aid and perform other tasks in the combat zone.
There was also a Volkswagen Transporter ambulance in the parking lot. Its wheel was damaged by debris.
Another group of volunteers was in shelter at this time, so no one was hurt.
The organization stressed that it categorically condemns the shelling of civilian infrastructure and transport clearly marked with the Red Cross emblem, since such actions are a direct violation of international humanitarian law.
Let us recall that on the night of August 11, Russian infidels launched another attack on Ukraine using 71 drones. The enemy attacked in four directions.
