Russian occupiers launched a missile strike on the port infrastructure of Chornomorsk. A civilian vessel was damaged, and a crew member was injured.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
“A ballistic missile attacked the berth of the Black Sea port, where a civilian vessel under the flag of Malta was located. Unfortunately, one crew member was injured. He is now receiving the necessary assistance,” he said.
According to him, the ship was preparing to transport container cargo. As a result of the impact, three containers were damaged and an oil leak occurred. A boom barrier is being installed to contain the consequences.
“This is another act of Russian terror against civilian port infrastructure, international trade, and maritime security. Russia is deliberately attacking facilities that ensure exports, logistics, and food security. All relevant services are working on the spot. Ukraine continues to ensure the operation of ports and fulfill its international obligations, despite the aggressor’s constant attacks,” he added.
We will remind you that Russian occupation forces used drones to strike two foreign-flagged vessels , resulting in one death and injuries.
