This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
It is known that the issue was discussed during a meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and representatives of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian side informed its American partners that Russia carried out over 180 strikes on the port infrastructure of Greater Odessa in 2026. The attacks caused the operation of three deep-sea ports, through which over 90% of Ukrainian agricultural exports passed.
According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, this year Ukraine may harvest about 81.37 million tons of crop. At the same time, by the end of autumn, the deficit of storage capacity may reach about 11 million tons.
The agency warns that damage to ports and maritime export infrastructure could cause a liquidity crisis for the agricultural sector, as well as increase the burden on Ukraine’s land borders and EU agricultural markets.
To avoid crop losses, Ukraine has offered American partners support for the purchase of equipment that will allow farmers to temporarily store grain directly on the farms.
In particular, Deputy Minister of Economy and Environment Denys Bashlyk emphasized that international support will help the Ukrainian agricultural sector preserve its harvest and ensure its further integration into world markets.
It was previously reported that Russian attacks pose serious risks to the safety of shipping and the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.
In addition, a civilian vessel was damaged due to Russian strikes in communities in the Mykolaiv region.
